R.W. Hammond

Hi, my name is Robert W. Hammond. I sing bass and am the senior member of the group. Most of my friends call me "R.W.," but "Bob" is okay too!

I have been with the Gospelmen for over twelve years. The membership has changed over the years, but the eternal message of Christ's love found within our music will never change.

I began singing at the age of sixteen with the "Son's of Harmony", a new, exciting teenage quartet from Michigan. After nine years we disbanded as the Lord lead us all in different directions. However, my love and desire for Southern Gospel still remained.

Personal changes came later in my life and an opportunity opened with the Gospelmen Quartet. God opened that door to sing again when I least expected it. I am grateful for the privilege of ministry in the music we share.

I am single and open to a Christ-centered relationship in due time. My interests include outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, canoeing and mountain trail hiking when I visit my brother Gary and his family in California.

A favorite scripture is Psalms 150:1-6
